KAWSAYMI ANCESTRAL CUISINE

Day 1: Transfer to Otavalo region

Morning drive to Otavalo region. Visit to a “Kichwa Otavalo” indigenous family, to experience andean flavours. Conserving and recognizing the  value of Otavaleño culture’s ancestral customs. “Kawsaymi” means, “Our daily living,” in the Kichwa language.

Discover a day with the local family and enjoy Andean cooking classes. A fluid and friendly connection between native chef and learning apprentice is vital to successful cooking.  This experience consists of a complete culinary demonstration of ancestral techniques—from a walk, harvesting the fruits of our Mother Earth, to the step-by-step instruction of these products’ preparation, given by our native chef in both ancestral and modern kitchens.

Overnight in the host family or in a local hacienda

Day 2: Transfer back to Quito

Transportation to all mentioned places in the itinerary
