ECUADOR & COLOMBIAN BORDER

Day 1: QUITO: arrival

Arrival in Quito. Meet and Greet at International Quito Airport. Transfer to selected Hotel and Check In.

Day 2: Visit to the Historic District of Quito

Enjoy a visit to the colonial quartier of Quito accompanied by a local guide, discover why Quito was Declared Cultural Heritage Site by Unesco on 1978.

Day 3:    QUITO : Rent A Car Office – CAYAMBE – IBARRA

Transfer from the Hotel to the Rent A Car Office to pick up the car and comply all the procedures. You will be assisted by your English speaking guide.

You will start your Self-drive experience. Driving to the northern region of the country to the Cayambe and Imbabura region along the E35 route.

Take the route to Zuleta – La Esperanza, to get marveled of the beautiful scenery of the region

Day 4: IBARRA – COLOMBIAN BORDER – PASTO

The route to the north of Ecuador is very rich and diverse, subtropical and dryvalleys, including high pass in the highlands.

– Ibarra City: traditional confectioneries and “Paila” Ice creams

– San Miguel View Point

– Yaguarchocha lake

– Chota Valley

– Paleontological Museum in Bolivar

– Our Lady of La Paz Grotto

– Ecuador / Colombia Border

– Las Lajas Sanctuary

Arrival in Pasto the “Colombian city that Surprise visitors”

Day 5: LA COCHA LAGOON

Drive to La Cocha a natural complex and natural reserve.

– La Cocha Reserve

– Visit the little “swiss” style village

Day 6: LA UNION

Route to la Union, a little village whose inhabitants cultivate one of the best Colombian Coffe.

Day 7: PASTO – IBARRA

Morning guided visit to Pasto and its center.

Then you will return back to the border.

– Tulcan Cementery

– Mascarilla afro-descendants village and mask atelier

Day 8: IBARRA – CAYAMBE

Drive back to a nice historic hacienda located in Cayambe

– Visit to Cotacachi and Cuicocha lake

– Visit to Peguche, waterfall, weavings atelier, andean musical instruments atelier.

– Visit to and old hacienda and a Roses for Export Showroom

Day 9:

Route to the airport for flight to your next destination

Arrival transfer in Quito with private services

Accommodation in double room at selected hotels or similar. Daily breakfast and local taxes included.

Visit Quito historic district with privated guide. (entrance fees included)

Vehicle rental for 7 Days from Day 3 to Day 9, on category chosen: Compact, Suv 4×2, etc

• Gps included with pre charged itinerary, hotels and attractions
• PWD (Partial Damage Waiver): In joint participation, the customer is exempted from paying part of the financial responsibility that applies in case of damage or loss of the vehicle, as a result of a claim, provided that the terms and conditions of the lease have been complied with).
• The vehicle will be picked up by 9h00 am at the Quito agency on Day 3, and to return to the agency located at Quito airport on Day 9 until 18h.
